Where playful childhood meets evidence-based learning.

Homeschool Imagined

Homespun Childhood aims to inspire and guide families by sharing our journey with evidence-based instructional practices, enriching homeschool curricula, literacy resources, and the magic of playful, organized chaos.

 welcome.

Hi, I'm Sarah. I'm a former elementary teacher turned homeschooling mom of three. I love coffee, books, organizing, and spending time outside.

Here at Homespun Childhood, I hope to bring my professional and personal experience together and wade through parenting and homeschooling alongside you. I have an M.Ed in Early Childhood Education with a focus on literacy development and am LETRS certified. I taught kindergarten, first grade, and 3rd grade before leaving to be with our kiddos full time.

We have three kiddos, ages 10, 7, and 5, and we have loosely followed a secular Montessori/Waldorf/Charlotte Mason-inspired lifestyle for the past eight years. Follow along as I navigate three kids, education, and motherhood in our small New England town.

our family

Here on the interwebs, my family consists of The Husband, 10yo C1, 7yo C2, and 5yo C3.

A homespun childhood is play-based, curiosity-driven, and full of possibility. Homeschooling, traditional schooling, or something in between — we can all foster a homespun childhood.
